There are 3 females and 3 males. One of each will be white, the others will gradually turn darker.

All the puppies are born white in color with liver markings. The color of the undersides of their feet and their pads indicate if they will be white or not. As of today, they are just starting to turn darker, they will change steadily over the next couple of weeks.

At 5 weeks I would expect their coats to be as follows: female puppies #1 and 2 will have the longest, thickest coats, male puppy #6 will have the next longest coat, male puppy #5 would be next in line, and finally male puppy #3 and female puppy #4 (these two pups will either be slicks or have lighter coats and furnishings).

The following head shots were taken on Day 10, at 4, 5 and 7 weeks. A brief description of their liver markings is included. The "blaze" descriptions are of their head markings. At this age the "white blaze" on a puppy that will be dark will probably not remain white but rather turn the same color as their body. The 7 week pictures were taken to show their tail set. They all carry their tails high, unfortunately it is not always easy to get that in a picture at this age.

At 11 weeks: at this age I can pretty much tell if my earlier predictions were right or not, so I have added additional descriptions of physical and personality traits that I am seeing at this point in their short lives.

Puppy #3-Male-"Junior"

At 9 weeks: Originally I thought he was going to be a "slick", but he already has some furnishings showing up around his eyes and longer hair is starting to come in on his body. I believe now that he will have similar if not a little more furnishings then his sire. He is very mild mannered. He loves to run and jump in the snow. He loves to crawl up in my lap and get a good old scratching. He is still a little larger then the others but only uses that to his advantage if there is a tug-of-war going on. He seems to be this litters "good ol' boy". He is using the doggie door like a pro. He is retrieving to hand and has an easy give.

Puppy #4-Female -"Princess"

Puppy #5-Male -"Sullie"

.At 11 weeks: He is not going to be dark by any means. He is more of a silver color with small light liver spots on his body. He has started to get furnishings on his face. He is the second largest puppy. He is independent and kind of does his own thing. He loves being outside and will be dripping wet by the time it is time to come in side. One of his favorite things to do is to rip apart cardboard boxes. He likes a "drive by scratching" as he is too busy playing. He is using the doggie door. He retrieves and we are working on the "give" part.
