North Dakota Scenery The winter of 2010 has been pretty much a repeat of 2009! Here are some shots from around the house and kennels!
Looking out the front door and my good old partner in crime taking a well deserved rest! I try to keep the yard as clean as I can and now I am worried about where all the water will go when it melts as there is a wall of snow around the whole yard.
Looking back at the house and the pile of snow I have been trying to remove from the exercise area! I have been working on it all week and it is slowly going down in size! The pile came to be after the last blizzard as we worked for 3 hours just trying to get the fence dug out. The snow went well over the top of the 5' fence and was from the gate clear to the other end of the area about 120 feet. Next time, I will take the time to haul it out right away instead of piling it and trying to move it later!
On the left is the east side of the "outhouse" where I have removed the snow with the tractor, on the right is the west side of the "out house" where I have to dig by hand as I can't get to it yet with the tractor! It fills in ever time the wind blows! Next year I will take down the kennel panels at the out house so I can have easier access to the whole fence line!
These are the piles of snow that are in the pasture to the south of the boarding kennel. On the left is what has been hauled out of the exercise area and to the right is what we moved away from the outside of the fence to keep it from holding the snow in when it blows. And this is the road coming out from the house. It is easily 6 feet tall and 8-10 feet wide. The ditches are completely filled and it drifts in everytime the wind picks up more then 5 mph. There just is no place to put it any more, that is unless you would like some!
