Heart River Dakota Bandit

aka "Bandit"

Bandit is a female German Wirehaired Pointer, whelped on May 2, 2001, at the Heart River Kennels, Dickinson, ND. Her sire is Three Devils Hustler (aka. Waldo - #1 Male Wirehaired Pointer in NSTRA in 1996, 97, 98, 99 and 2000), her dam is Maggie Von Strickert (Maggie).

Bandit weighs 48 pounds, stands 22" high at the shoulders and is trim in the body with a deep chest.

Bandit's personality is truly a direct combination of her father's and mother's personalities. She is very quiet, completely devoted to us, eager to please and has a burning desire to hunt. In the field she is all business, not distracted by other dogs or hunters. She has tremendous stamina.

When wild bird hunting , her favorite spots are hunting the heavy cover and the slews. She adjusts to different terrain naturally. Bandit has a nice quartering pattern and backs nicely.

Bandit has been retired from trialing due to an eye injury. She had her last litter in 2007 and has retired from motherhood to spend her days hunting and helping train the younger dogs.

Sadly, Bandit had to be put down on January 13, 2011, due to illness. She was our first and taught us way more then we ever taught her. I will miss her personality, drive and loving "hugs".
