Kennel History

Ron and I started as so many people do, as a hobby. We were introduced to the world of hunting dogs by a close friend. It was through his friendship that we developed a love for the German Wirehaired Pointers and began this journey.

When Ron passed away in 2007, I vowed to carry on his love of the breed.

Our kennel is located on Antelope Creek south of Dickinson, North Dakota. All of our German Wirehaired Pointers are AKC registered. I hunt from September until January and then field trial from March through August. During the "off" season, I work our dogs regularily, so they are active all year round.

I am a NSTRA (National Shoot to Retrieve Association) member. I am also a certified NSTRA Field Trial judge. Although not everyone wants to run their dog in field trials, I find that the trialing experience is a way to extend the hunting season and is a wonderful means of keeping your hunting dog active and in shape. Field trialing is also a great activity in which the whole family can be involved.

I have acquired what I believe to be a line of German Wirehaired Pointers that are versatile hunters (physically sound, filled with desire and intelligence) and wonderful family dogs (pleasing personalities, friendly, biddable, exceptional people dogs).

My intention is not to become a huge operation, but to remain small producing one or two quality litters a year. I want to be able to give our dogs and their off-spring the attention they need to be well rounded and socialized. I want to be familiar enough with my pups that I can match their personalities to their future owners, creating a win-win situation. Finding the perfect fit for my pups and any perspective buyers is a very important part of the process for me. Knowing that it is not usually possible for most buyers to spend a lot of time before making a selection, I want to be able to provide as much information regarding my pups as possible to assist our buyers in their final choice.
